MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION / RENEWAL
- Who can apply?
Individuals aged 12 and above can apply for membership in SM Advantage. Individuals from ages twelve (12) to seventeen (17) years old can join
provided they obtain their parent’s/guardian’s consent. Parents/guardians should sign the “Parent’s Consent” section found near the end of the
Membership Application Form. Individuals who are 11 years old and below are disqualified from joining.
- How can I apply?
- Purchase an SM Advantage Express Membership Kit for P 150.00 from cashiering counter of SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket and Information Counters of SM Malls.
- Fill out the SM Advantage Membership Application Form (MAF) enclosed in the Express Membership Kit.
- Submit the filled-out Membership Application Form to the SM Advantage Counter of SM Department Store.
- Permanent SM Advantage Card can be claimed at the SM Advantage Counter of any SM Department Store, selected Supermarket and Hypermarket branches nationwide 14 days after the submission of the MAF.
- How long does my membership last?
SM Advantage membership is valid for two years. The Expiry Date printed on the permanent SM Advantage Card means that the card is valid until the last day of the month.
- How do I renew my SM Advantage membership?
Membership renewal for another two years is done by paying the renewal fee of Php 100.00 at any cashiering counter. Present receipt and old SMAC at the SM Advantage Counter to claim your new card. Members may also use their points to pay for the renewal fee and they will get a 20% rebate the following day.

SM ADVANTAGE EXPRESS MEMBERSHIP KIT
- What is the SM Advantage Express Membership Kit?
The SM Advantage Express Membership Kit is the most convenient way to apply for membership. It is an off-the-shelf membership kit that includes a membership application form and a temporary card (SMAC Express). The SMAC Express can be used immediately so you do not lose out on any reward points for your purchases but it cannot be used to redeem your points.
- How long can the SMAC Express be used?
The SMAC Express Card can be used to earn points and avail of privileges up to a maximum of 4 months, from the date of purchase. The validity of the card is printed on the lower right hand corner of the card.
- What happens if the SMAC Express I purchased is defective?
If the SMAC Express card is found defective within 1-month from date of purchase, it will be replaced for free. If more than 1 month and MAF has been submitted, member will be advised to go to the SM Advantage Counter to check if permanent card is already available. If not, card will be replaced for free.
- Can a lost or damaged SMAC Express be replaced?
SMAC Express Card is non – replaceable when lost or damaged.

EARNING OF SM ADVANTAGE POINTS
- How do I earn SM Advantage points?
Members can earn reward points by presenting their SM Advantage Card to the cashier upon payment of:
- Purchases at the cashiering and check-out counters of the SM Retail Group.
- Payment of gas from Petron
- Sales and service from Autohub group
- Tuition fee in Asia Pacific College
- Hotel Accommodations and/or Food & Beverage in Taal Vista
- What will happen to the points I earned using my SMAC Express?
The points earned using the SMAC Express will automatically be transferred to the permanent SM Advantage Card upon claim.
- What happens to my points if my SMAC Express expires before I submit my membership application form?
Points in the SMAC Express whose MAF was not submitted will be forfeited 2 years after the expiration of SMAC Express.
- What happens to my points if I lose my SMAC Express before I submit my membership application form?
The points will be forfeited if the SM Advantage Express Card is lost before the membership application form has been submitted.
- Will my SM Advantage points expire?
Yes. All unused SM Advantage reward points expire 30 days after the expiration of the membership. Points that are not redeemed before they expire are automatically forfeited.
However, if the member renews before the expiration date, all unused points that were earned will be transferred to the new SM Advantage Card.

USING SM ADVANTAGE POINTS FOR REDEMPTION
- What is the value of my SM Advantage reward points?
The value of 1 point is P 1.00
- How can I use my points to redeem rewards?
Like cash, you can pay your purchases at any cashier counter using your SM Advantage points.
- When can I start using my SM Advantage reward points for redemption?
A member can start using points to redeem reward upon accumulation of at least 50 points. However, there is no minimum on the value of the reward that can be redeemed. Also, the member may choose to accumulate more points to redeem higher-value items.

POOLING OF POINTS
- What is points transfer?
Points transfer is when a member combines part or all of his points with another SM Advantage member.
- How do I transfer points?
Members may call the SMAC Hotline to request transfer of points. For SMAC BDOMC cardholders, they may request thru the BDO Hotline. Transferred points will be reflected after three (3) working days.
- Do transferred points expire?
Yes, they expire like regular points.

For unregistered user: SMAC REG_16-digit SMAC number_4digit PIN and send to 2213.
- How can I update my personal membership information?
Updating of personal membership information is done at the SM Advantage Counter of SM Department Store. Fill-up the Members Info Update Form or call the SMAC Hotline.

- What is a PIN?
The PIN or Personal Identification Number is a 4-digt code that is used as a security measure to minimize fraudulent use of the SM Advantage Card. For all new cards, the member’s birth date (mm-yy) will be assigned as the default PIN. For added security, members are advised to change their default PIN via any of the different facilities provided for this purpose.
- How do I change in my PIN?
Members can change their PIN thru the following:
- SM Advantage website: www.sm-advantage.com
- SMS: Text SMAC PIN and send to 2213
- What do I do if I forget my PIN?
Members may request to re-set their PIN by calling the SMAC Hotline. PIN will be in effect after three (3) working days.

- What are the privileges of becoming an SM Advantage member?
Aside from the reward points that members earn every time they shop at SM, they are entitled to exclusive privileges from SM Cinema, IMAX, Ice Skating, Bowling, Storyland, Science Discovery Center and selected establishments inside and outside SM Malls nationwide throughout the duration of their membership.
- What is a Value Perks booklet?
Value Perks booklet is a compilation of coupons from selected mall tenants given to new members and members who renew their membership as a welcome gift when they pick up their SMAC at the SM Advantage Counter.

LOST AND DAMAGED SM ADVANTAGE CARD
- What do I do if my SM Advantage Card gets lost?
To report a lost card and block its use, members can call the SM Advantage hotline at 833-8888, or log on to www.sm-advantage.com and click “Lost Card” on the front page. This will immediately block the lost card and prevent any fraudulent usage. Members can also go to the nearest SM Advantage Counter to report the loss and file a request for replacement.
To replace lost cards, members can pay the replacement fee of P100.00 at any cashiering counter, present receipt at the Customer Service Counter and will be then be issued a claim stub. You may claim your new card after two (2) weeks upon presentation of the claim stub issued by the Customer Service Assistant. Remaining points from your lost card will be transferred to your new card.
- What should I do in case my card is defective?
If a member finds that his SM Advantage Card does not work, he may go to the nearest SM Advantage Counter and request for a replacement card.
SM Advantage Cards carry a three month warranty (from date of activation) against faulty smart chips or magstrips, during which time no fee will be charged for card replacement. After the three month warranty period, replacement of cards with faulty chips or magstrips will be charged P100.00.
The warranty does not cover damage to the card resulting from abuse, misuse and negligence on the part of the member. Therefore, the replacement fee of P100.00 will still be charged even within the three month warranty period if the SMAC shows signs of physical damage (like folded, warped, scratched, etc.).
To request for a replacement card, pay the card replacement fee at any cashiering counter in SM Department Store, SM Supermarket or SM Hypermarket and present receipt at the Customer Service Counter to claim new card
